What it is
The Lenus app can pull your sleep straight from Apple Health, so each morning your previous night's sleep shows up on its own. You see your average nightly sleep and a chart of recent nights in the Sleep widget, and you can set a daily sleep goal if you'd like one.
Who it's for
Clients using the Lenus app on iPhone (iOS). Sleep tracking is available to all Lenus coaches. If you don't see the Sleep widget, it's usually because you're on Android (not supported yet), your app isn't updated to the latest version, or your coach uses a custom app layout that doesn't include it.
How to use it
Open the Sleep widget - you'll find it on your home (Today) feed and on the Progress page under Efforts.
Tap to connect Apple Health, and allow the sleep permission when your iPhone asks.
The app imports your recent nights of sleep (about the last week). Your average nightly sleep and a bar chart of recent nights appear in the widget.
(Optional) Set a daily sleep goal: drag the slider to your target in hours - for example 7.5h. The default is 8h, and you can change it or turn it off later.
Each night is compared to your goal, and the widget shows whether you hit it.
On the Progress page, open the Sleep effort to see your total sleep and how often you met your goal over 7, 30 or 90 days, with the change since the previous period.
Your recent sleep average also appears in your check-in, so it's there when you review progress with your coach.
Good to know
iPhone only for now. Sleep is read from Apple Health, so it's available on iOS. Android isn't supported yet.
It tracks total time asleep, not a breakdown of deep, REM or light sleep.
It's automatic - there's no "log my sleep" form. If you haven't connected Apple Health or granted the sleep permission, the widget shows a connect screen instead of your data.
The goal is set in hours (anywhere from 0 to 12, with half-hours like 7.5h), you can't set it in minutes.
FAQ
Can I type in my sleep manually?
No, sleep is imported automatically from Apple Health. Make sure your iPhone or Apple Watch is recording sleep in the Apple Health app.
Why don't I see any sleep data?
Check that you've connected Apple Health and allowed the sleep permission, and that Apple Health has sleep recorded for recent nights. If there's no Sleep widget at all, check that you're on an up-to-date iOS app (Android isn't supported yet) and that Apple Health has permission to share your sleep data.
Does it show my sleep stages (deep / REM)?
No. The app shows one total per night, not a stage-by-stage breakdown.
How do I change or remove my sleep goal?
Open the goal slider from the Sleep widget to adjust your target, or turn the goal off if you'd rather not track against one.
