Integrating the Lenus client app with Apple Health or Google Fit

Help with importing steps and activities to your app by synchronizing with Google Fit or Apple Health

Written by Bukunmi Ojumu

Key benefits

Automatic import of activities and steps simplifies tracking and achieving your activity goals.

How it works

You can easily connect your Lenus app to one of the two most popular mobile health tracking services: Apple Health for iPhones or Google Fit for Android smartphones.

Once you’ve activated the connection, all activities and steps tracked by Apple Health or Google Fit will automatically sync with your Lenus app and count towards your activity goals.

If you sync data from another device (like a Garmin) with Google Fit or Apple Health, those activities will also appear in your Lenus app. For more details, see the section below.

How to activate the connection

In the Lenus app, if you’re using Apple Health or Google Fit, you’ll see a prompt inviting you to connect to one of these services.

Clicking on the prompt will take you to the 'Profile' section in the Lenus app. From there, select Integrations and enable the app to receive data from Apple Health or Google Fit.

How Steps Are Imported and Tracked

  • Once you activate the connection, all steps recorded by Apple Health or Google Fit will be automatically imported into your Lenus app. You can view these imported steps in the 'Your Data' tab of the app.

  • You also have the option to manually add any steps that might not have been registered by your health tracking service.

  • If your coach sets a goal, such as reaching 10,000 steps a day, your imported steps will count towards achieving that goal.

How Activities Are Imported and Tracked

Just like steps, once your Lenus app is connected to Apple Health or Google Fit, all activities like running or cycling tracked by these services will be automatically imported into the app. You can find these imported activities in the 'Your Data' tab, under 'Your Activities'.

ℹ️ Please note...

  • Activities that are shorter than 5 minutes will not be saved in the app.

  • If you want to delete an imported activity, you’ll need to do so in Apple Health or Google Fit.

  • You can rate and comment on your imported activities just like you do for activities you manually add.

Importing Data from Other Fitness Tracking Apps

Currently, the Lenus app only supports importing data and activities from Google Fit or Apple Health. It is not possible to directly import activities from other apps or devices such as Garmin, Fitbit, or Samsung Health into the Lenus app.

However, you can still transfer your data from these third-party apps and devices by integrating them with Apple Health or Google Fit. Once your data is imported into Apple Health or Google Fit, it will automatically sync with the Lenus app.

Connecting Apple Health with a Garmin Device

To sync your Garmin device with Apple Health:

  1. Open the Apple Health app and navigate to:

    • Overview ❤️ > Profile (top right)

    • Under Privacy > Apps, select Garmin and turn on All permissions.

  2. Then, enable the integration in the Lenus app by going to Profile > Integrations > Import data from Apple Health.

Now, all activities tracked by your Garmin device should appear in both Apple Health and the Lenus app.

Troubleshooting Data Sync Issues for Google Fit or Apple Health

If your Lenus app stops syncing data from Google Fit or Apple Health, try the following steps:

  1. Go to the "You" page in the Lenus app and attempt to resync the data.

  2. Verify that the connection between Lenus and Google Fit or Apple Health is properly activated. In the Lenus app, go to your Profile section, select Integrations, and ensure the app is allowed to receive data.

  3. If the issue persists, try removing the Google Fit or Apple Health integration and reconnecting it. You may also need to clear the app's storage on your device.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, further investigation may be necessary.

⚠️ It is currently not possible to integrate nutrition tracking or logging with the Lenus app through Apple Health or Google Fit. Only activities can be integrated.
